September Hay

When I went to Choudrant, yesterday, the September hay had been bailed. They have been hauling it off quickly, recently, so I didn’t want to miss my chance. I took a few shots in the harsh afternoon light, but wasn’t completely happy.

I woke up early the next morning and went back before dawn. Although I didn’t have my tripod, I was still able to get some good shots in the morning mist at the cost of a bit of grain.

I felt a return to a 1:1 aspect ratio really lets the medium format shine. Although as wonderful as a square aspect ratio is, I couldn’t resist some mild panorama in the crop on a few shots. I also find black and white on the medium format stands out wonderfully, especially on the 45mm. Thank you for letting me share a beautiful scene with you.
